BOARD OF EDUCATION OPENING
Norfolk Public School District
Due to a resignation from the board as a result of relocation out
of the district, the Norfolk Public School’s board of education is
calling for applications for appointment to the vacant seat on the
school board. The person appointed to the board of education will
serve until the next regular school board election, at which time
the remainder of the unexpired term, if any, shall be filled by a
person nominated at the primary election and elected at the general
election.
Qualifications for the
Position:
1. The applicant must be a legally registered voter in the
Norfolk Public School District.
2. Must have a sincere desire to serve the educational needs of the
children of this district.
3. Members of the board of education shall be nonpartisan and
non-geographical in dealing with all school matters and shall not
subordinate the education of children and youth to any partisan
principle, unrelated group interest, or personal ambition.
4. The applicant must submit their application for the appointment
to the board to the board’s recording secretary by Wednesday, July
8, 12:00 p.m. (noon).
Process for
Appointment:
1. The application may be obtained by contacting the recording
secretary of the board, Veryle Winter, 512 Philip Ave., Norfolk,
NE; by phone at 644-2504 or via email at vwinter@npsne.org.
2. Submit the application by the deadline.
3. The Norfolk Board of Education will review all valid
applications and select the finalists.
4. The finalists will be interviewed by the board of education at a
regularly scheduled board meeting. The selection will be made after
the interviews during the meeting.
5. The board member will be seated at the board’s next regular
first meeting of the month.
