I. Call to Order  
Brad Krivohlavek, President, called the meeting to order at 12:07 P.M.

II. Declaration of a Legal Meeting  
Brad Krivohlavek, President, declared this a legal meeting of the Board of Education.  The meeting was advertised in the Norfolk Daily News on Monday, April 20, 2009, and was posted ont he doors of the Administration Office, 512 Philip Avenue.  Dr. Krivohlavek announced that a complete copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted on the east wall of the board room for your review.  A copy of the agenda is available at the disk of the recording secretary.

III. Reports and Discussion Items  

III.A. May Events for Board Members  
The board was reminded of dates, times and attendance for May school events:

Completion Ceremony – May 13 – 10:00 a.m.
Honors Night – May 14 – 5:15 p.m Dinner and 6:30 p.m. Honors
Commencement – May 17

Board members were asked to try to attend the ones that worked into their schedules.

III.B. Shaping the Future Recommendations  
Dr. Uhing shared that she has met with the Northern Hills and Lincoln staff.  She shared the background which led to the recommendations and answered questions from them.  She asked the board if they had any questions before putting the remaining Shaping the Future recommendations on the May agenda. 

Alfredo Ramirez asked if Senator Flood could be invited to attend the May 4 meeting at 4:30
p.m.

IV.A. Option Enrollment  

Primary Motion Passed:  Motion to approve Student Transfers for the 2009-2010 school term to another school district through the Option Enrollment Program passed with a motion by Julee Pfeil and a second by Joel Carlson.
