Dear Parents/Guardians,
On behalf of the Woodland Park School Staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2008-09 school year. We are excited about the start of the year, and look forward to working with you and your child in providing a positive learning experience. Below you will find some dates and information that will help you plan for the school year.
Kindergarten Round-up – August 14 at 6:30 PM
First Day of School -
Grades 1-5 Monday August 18 all day 8:15-3:15
Kindergarten–please refer to your previous letter for your child’s start date.
School Pictures – Sept. 25
Y Kids Club – The Norfolk YMCA will again be running Y Kids Club before and after school care at Woodland Park School. The Y Kids Club will begin the first day of school August 18. To register, please contact the YMCA at 371-9770.
School Lunch – Lunch prices are as follows: Daily $2.15 (Reduced .40 cents), Weekly $10.75 (Students may pay as much in advance as they choose), Extra milk for lunch .40 cents . (One milk is included with the lunch price)
School Breakfast – We will be serving a “sack” school breakfast in the classrooms starting August 16. The cost will be 70 cents, and there is no cost for those students who qualify for free lunch.
Class Lists - As usual, class lists will be posted on the front door of the school on Thursday, August 14.
PTO Meeting – Monday, August 25th at 7:00 p.m.
Our PTO Ice Cream Social/Open House will be the evening of September 9, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Again, welcome to the new school year. We are looking forward to an exciting year of discovery and learning as we work together in educating your child.
