Second and third graders are learning about the scientific forces and processes that contribute to our ever changing world. By integrating high-interest, non-fiction current events and science news, student motivation is anticipated to increase. A monthly news magazine and video series funded by the grant in conjunction with the district curriculum provides the basis for the activities in this project. Among the topics addressed in the science libraries that were purchased are the human body, electricity, simple machines, insects, force and motion, plants, animals, and matter.
