Notice -- Notice of the 2nd meeting of the month was published in the Norfolk Daily News on Saturday, August 18, 2007. 

12:00 Noon Session -- The Board of Education met on Thursday, August 23, 2007, at 12:00 noon for the 2nd meeting of the month in the Board Room of the Administration Office, 512 Philip Avenue.  Members present included Jane McDaniel, Brad Krivohlavek, Julee Pfeil, Paul Cazabon, and Clark Froehlich and Alfredo Ramirez.  Absent:  None.  Also present was Superintendent Marlene Uhing. 

Open Meetings Act -- President McDaniel announced that a complete copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted on the East wall in the Board Room of the Administration Office, 512 Philip Avenue. 

Legal Meeting – Jane McDaniel, President, called the meeting to order at 12:01 noon and declared a legal meeting of the Board of Education. 

2nd Reading on Vacation Leave Policy – It was moved by Clark Froehlich, seconded by Alfredo Ramirez, to approve on second and final reading the proposed vacation leave policy as presented. Roll call:  Aye – Krivohlavek, McDaniel, Ramirez, Pfeil, Cazabon, and Froehlich.  Nay – None.  Motion carried.

Superintendent’s Evaluation – Dr. Uhing presented sample copies of superintendent evaluation forms to be used by the Board of Education to evaluate the superintendent of schools.  The board selected the one they wish to use.  The board and superintendent also discussed goal setting for the ensuing year.

At 12:56 p.m. President McDaniel declared the meeting adjourned.
