Board Retreat
Notice -- Notice of the board retreat of the Board of
Education was published in The Norfolk Daily News on Monday,
July 30, 2007.
9:00 a.m. Session -- The Board of Education met on
Monday, August 6, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Fairplay Golf Course,
Norfolk, Nebraska for a board retreat. Members present
included Brad Krivohlavek, Jane McDaniel, Julee Pfeil, Alfredo
Ramirez, Paul Cazabon, and Clark Froehlich. Dr. Marlene Uhing
and all of the Norfolk Public Schools administrators were
present. Also present was Dr. Steve Joel, superintendent of
the Grand Island Public Schools, who served as the facilitator for
the retreat.
Call to Order -- Jane McDaniel, President, called the
meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and declared a legally advertised
meeting of the Board of Education.
Open Meetings Act – President Jane McDaniel announced
that a complete copy of the Open Meetings Act was available for
review if anyone was interested.
Welcome -- Dr. Marlene Uhing welcomed everyone and
introduced Dr. Steve Joel, facilitator.
Discussion Item -- The entire meeting was spent
discussing the newly adopted Norfolk Public Schools Board of
Education Operating Principles.
Adjournment -- Jane McDaniel, President, declared the
meeting adjourned at approximately 12:15 p.m. at which time the
group enjoyed a luncheon.
