Notice -- Notice of the 2nd meeting of the month was published in the Norfolk Daily News on Friday, April 20, 2007. 

12:00 Noon Session -- The Board of Education met on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at 12:00 noon for the 2nd meeting of the month.  Members present included Brad Krivohlavek, Jane McDaniel, Alfredo Ramirez, Julee Pfeil, Paul Cazabon, and Clark Froehlich.  Absent:  Alfredo Ramirez.  Also present were Superintendent Randy Nelson, Robert Waite, Doug Witte, and Dan DePasquale. 

Open Meetings Act -- President McDaniel announced that a complete copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted on the East wall in the Board Room of the Administration Office, 512 Philip Avenue.

Legal Meeting – Jane McDaniel, President, called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon and declared a legal meeting of the Board of Education.

Consent Agenda Items

It was moved by Brad Krivohlavek, seconded by Clark Froehlich, to approve the following consent agenda items. Roll call:  Aye – Krivohlavek, McDaniel, feil, Cazabon, and Froehlich.  Nay – None.  Absent:  Ramirez.  Motion carried.

Resignations – Approved the following resignations effective at the end of the current school year contingent upon the hiring of a suitable replacement:

                                    Keith Schroetlin, Junior High math
                                    Ray Worden, instrumental music
                                    Melora Hirschman, music at Sunny Meadow

Bids The high bids were accepted for modulars as outlined:

             Stahla Homes for Modular #2 for $7,634.00 and Dan Murray for Mudular #1 for $2,500.

Memorial Field Feasibility Study – Agreed to split the estimated cost of $20,000 with the City of Norfolk for the feasibility study only.  The board has not agreed to any other costs.  It was noted that the City of Norfolk will take over the upkeep of the football field.

Update on Grant – Chad Boyer updated the board on Grant School and how it is being used and options of where the preschool could be housed within Grant Elementary School.  Chad stated that everything is working out nicely at Grant.  Each board member was given a handout.

Next Regular Board Meeting – The 4:30 study session on May 14 will be held at Westside Elementary School and the 7:30 meeting will be at the City Council Chambers.

Discussion of Gatherings for Dr. Nelson– Dr. Nelson was asked to leave so the board could discuss Dr. Nelson’s going away parties. 

At 1:00 pm. President McDaniel, declared the meeting adjourned.
